There cannot be better news for fans who once rooted for Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals — both teams will make a return next year after serving a two-year ban. CSK and RR will replace RPS and GL in the next season of IPL.
It is believed that next year there will be open auctions as no franchise would be allowed to retain any players.
In the latest report, CSK has confirmed that the franchise is keen to retain ‘Captain Cool’ MS Dhoni for the next season and also want the same core staff with Stephen Fleming as the coach. In an interview to Times of India, K George John, CSKCL told “If we are given an option of retaining a player, it will definitely be Dhoni. We haven’t yet discussed with Dhoni as his contract with Pune Supergiant ends later this year. However, we will speak to him in the future.”
So we can expect that Ms. Dhoni will return to CSK team in IPL 2018.
